The Gender Health Clinic at UAB Medicine provides gender-affirming care. This highly specialized program is staffed by a team of compassionate physicians, nurses, and advanced practice providers (APPs) and offers a range of services that includes:
- Hormone therapy
- Voice therapy
- Psychological evaluation and management
- Management of common medical conditions
- Top surgery trans-masculine and trans-feminine, including breast reconstruction

As a transgender woman, UAB Medicine Gender Health Clinic Coordinator Brianna Patterson works with patients to improve their health outcomes, increase their connections with providers, and reduce or eliminate barriers to care that transgender and gender non-binary people face.
