Congratulations to this month’s winner: Lindsey Nix, RN! What makes Lindsey a DAISY winner?
“In January of 2020, there was a precious 7-week-old that passed away from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) at the UAB Medicine Freestanding Emergency Department of Gardendale. Lindsey Nix, RN, was so compassionate to make sure the family was able to take something home to remember their special loved one. She ran to Walmart and bought ink and stock cards to make hand- and foot- prints, rubber bands and ribbon to collect hair, and a box to put them in. She went above-and-beyond and was very quick to put this together. The staff was very sad for this family, but doing this small thing helped to uplift everyone’s spirit. Lindsey’s actions will be something this family will cherish forever.”
