Heart attack symptoms
Heart attacks often start with severe chest pain, but not in every case. Women may have less obvious signs, so it’s important for both men and women to understand these possible symptoms, which may include:
- Chest discomfort, pressure, or pain
- Difficulty breathing, even when not active
- Lightheadedness or loss of consciousness
- New episodes of weakness or fatigue
- Rapid or irregular heartbeat
- Sudden arm pain (especially in the left arm), and/or pain in the jaw, neck, or back
Delaying care for a heart attack may lead to more serious health issues.
If you are experiencing any of these symptoms – especially in combination with nausea or vomiting – please visit the nearest emergency room immediately or call 911.
Second opinions
A second opinion can give you the confidence and peace of mind you need to move forward with treatment, and we make the process easy. We can review your medical records and health care history to answer your questions and discuss options.
Before your appointment, please check with your insurance company to find out if a second opinion is covered. We can request your medical records for you, so that they may be shared with your care team before you arrive.
Financial assistance and support
If you and your family are having trouble affording health care, we can connect you with resources and programs that may be able to help. Our financial counseling team is here to listen to your concerns and work with you to find options that meet your needs.
